3.1. Bow
3.1.1. Kelly's Basic Archer
Taken from Kelly Nicrath's Archer Page
This is a slight modification of the Bow Hunter
and reflects my style of play. With Melee Defense
only trained it allows you to pick up Fletching and
healing from the start and makes it much easier,
but starts you off with a little less life. I feel this is a
better template for somebody who is just starting
out in AC. The extra 10 points can be put into Focus
and this will get you an extra 3 points in your magic
skills which will help out later in life, but the extra
mana will give you a boost at a younger age. Your Choice.

3.1.2. Kelly's Basic Archer Mk.II
Take from Kelly Nicrath's Archer Page
A slight modification from my Basic Archer, the
Mk. II Archer is geared a little more toward using
magic. The higher Self will let you cast more than
1 buff at a time from the start, but you could take
points out of it to raise your Focus if you want.

3.1.3. Illswyn's Archer
Take from Kelly Nicrath's Archer Page
Specialized bow lets you get a high bow skill
early, fletching lets you concentrate on other skills,
while still making greater arrows early. My high
strength has allowed me to wear decent armor
from the start. Even without bundles, I've always
been able to carry enough for 2000 or so arrows.
My melee defense is decent, due to the high quickness
I took. At about 45 I started learning some VI's, and
was buffing fully with V's. My arcane has been a
burden because it's always been a little too low, I
waited till 35 to string my composite due to the
arcane requirement. However, after 50, arcane
is no longer too low for level V items, my bow and
melee both buff around 320 with VI's, which I'm
using more often. This is probably about as opposite
of the mage w/bow as you can get, perhaps someone
who's tired of playing the constant buffing mage
would prefer something like this.

3.1.6. 3-School Bow
From Kanga Ryu of Thisteldown
My reason for this type of toon came from
not wanting to use items to buff me. Now with
a low str toon your worst enemy is burden. I
opted for the ballister of quiddity/bow of the
quiddity. Both are low bu 150/113 mod bows, self
buffs with 4's no lore needed and 200 buffed
crossbow/bow. Very easy enough to use with time.
And now current trends with buff bots,insta-og you
can have a toon ready to in no time at all. I only
took lore to get it high enough to equip focus stone,
and any minors like the Elysa's Favor rings. This
character shows her true power in her 40's. And
with max coord/focus healing,fletching,lockpick,arcane
lore can reach full trained ability cheaply. Strong
magic wise decent melee defense skill, made the
template seem doable. Some think arcane is redundant,
I make use out of it without having to dump much into it.

3.1.7. Taker Plus
From Longshot the Brave
Pros: Higher Health means you can take more
hits. Can use a bandit dagger as a backup weapon.
Can cast VI life and item by lvl 60
Cons: low strength. need good item managment.
Poor magic until higer levels.
This is for the people who played quake alot.
A run and gun template that has served me
well. The fact that at higher levels you can take
a 50-80 damage hit and still fight is nice. And no
need for critter. The speced arcane will cover that.

3.1.8. PvP Archer (PvP)
Submitted by Ixion Ibn A'zar.
This will be a very hard template to play and
relys alot on buffs from other people as well as a
fletching mule. It is not completed until level 100
if I calculate right. Probably one of the hardest
templates to play.

3.1.10. Sellback Archer
Submitted by Snowstorm of Thistledown.
The Sellback Archer provides all of the benefits
of the Grandpa Archer (and can eventually
surpass it), but uses skill sellback, post-specialization
and attribute redistribution to ease the pain of
getting there. The notable improvement is that
you get to un-specialize Mana Conversion, which
(according to many) isn't worth specializing at
high levels. If your playstyle doesn't include the
use of Yield spells, you can even skip specializing
Creature Enchantment for additional flexibility. Or,
you can specialize it to make buffing easier, then
drop it back to trained when you reach a *really*
high level.

Level 16: Healing
Level 26: Drop Mana Conversion to trained
(with skill sellback quest), and take Melee Defense
Level 55: Specialize Creature Enchantment
(with skill credit quest and post-creation specialization quest)
Level 75+: Train Arcane Lore or Fletching, or
wait until 85 to re-specialize Mana Conversion
or train Missile Defense or Lockpick
Ongoing: Redistribute primary attributes
as needed (move points from the attribute
that's cheapest to raise, to the
one that's most expensive to raise)
