4.1.2. Grief UA Mage (PvP)

Taken from AsheronsGuide.com

The Grief UA Mage is one of the hottest new
PVP Hybrid Characters being rerolled today. T
he high CREATURE and MAGIC DEFENSE skills
allow you to debuff your opponent - and resist
his debuffs at the same time. This template also
allows for easy level 7 spell casting just like the
OG Mage template. At level 90+ you can expect to
have the following abilities: 400 Unarmed
Combat, 360 War, 360 Life, 380 Creature, 320

4.1.4. Legend UA

Submitted by Saaber al-Drgn

From the Dawn of time came this Hybrid, a
template that focuses on the body, and the mind.
A Melee, with a bend toward Creature Magic.
Originally designed off a 3-school that forgot to take
Life, the Legend UA was made to be played well from
the beginning, to the very end, while being both Mage
and Melee. To that end, that stats where set to
optimize Strength, Coordination, and Focus. However,
like all templates, there are downsides. Its not
Uber quick or Melee Defense just because of the 10
Quick, but with Spec MeleeD, it handles itself better
then normal Hybrids. However the Spec Creature
allows you to cast those all enhancing attribute and
skill buffs earlier then anyone except dedicated
mages. Thus, you are self-sufficent, aggressive, and
pack a mean punch without giving up to much. Thus you are a
Legend.

4.1.6. Life Sword #2

Taken from Drgn's Keep

No race has sword as a default weapon, so racial
skills don't play a key importance. Like everything
though, you might base your secondary skill choice
on race. If you want a Hybrid Sword, you should lean
toward Shoushi or Gharu, just because the secondary
weapons for those races line up perfectly with the skills
for Sword. If you want an Extreme Melee who has looks l
ike a classical sword swinger, Shoushi or Aluvian.
Shoushi cause thoughts of Samurai spring to mind,
and Aluvian because that dagger is a blade, and you
want to be a Blademaster don't you? Secondary
weapons outside there is also the choice of weapons.
The two most prevelant Racial Swords in the game are
Aluvian and Shousi. Shoushi seems to lean slightly
ahead as Tachi(s) appear to be slightly more prevelant.

4.1.8. Life Axe #2

Taken from Drgn's Keep

This template is the weakest of the three in
terms of defense and leveling. It does however
make up for it, in that because you can Imperil
and Vuln monsters, you can kill monsters a lot
easier. You also get to cast level 7 Life Magic earlier.
Unfortunately, with specialized Life Magic in a Melee
body, your going to bite at debuffing monsters. Also
your buffs are going to be uneven till you reach the
70's as you wont be able to cast level 7's in Item and
Creature until almost level 75. On the plus side, this
template will be a great template at level 75+, once
your Melee Defense is at a base of about 280, and you
get your Item and Creature up to about 240 base each,
though for people who hate buffing, you still wont like
it that much.

Pros: a) Ability to cast Level 7 Life Pros earlier. b)
Ability to debuff monsters easier, though its still far
from the ability of an Og Mage. c) Creature Magic by level 70

Cons: a) If your relying on Life Magic to debuff
Monsters, that skill is gone the second a Life Inept
is casted on you. b) You need to bane a lot more. c)
Hollow Minions will hurt. d) No Lockpick until a
higher level. (100)

4.1.11. Magi Dagger

Taken from Drgn's Keep

Where other Daggers fear to tread, Magi Daggers
go. In every world of AC, there are people who
prefer to fight other living people. Known as PK
(Player Killer), fighting one on one is a deadly art.
For much of the life of AC however, Magicians
have a tendency to dominate these contests. As such,
toons like the Magi Dagger have been born for one
sole-puprose, hunt Mages.

Magi Daggers are very much purpose made,
and as such suffer some growing pains. For
much of their life, they will take a back seat
when attacking monsters, mostly due to their
non-specialized MeleeD. However, because of
the spec Creature, they make up for this by being
more self-sufficent then most, even at a young age.
Eventually, as they mature, they tend to step to
the front against Magic heavy mobs, and eventually,
Mages themselves.

4.1.12. Life Dagger #2

Taken from Drgn's Keep

Dagger characters in general run faster and have
higher melee defense skills. Because of this,
Dagger templates are often employed in more
hybrid style tactics then other melees. One of
the more frequent of which is this template, where
you take on Life as a spec.

Life Dagger templates, do require a little extra work
in the beginning, just to get you going. With their
lack of Hitpoints, no Heal, no Endurance, and no
Strength to carry Armor, or even much Comps,
their first few levels are generally a strain on new
people. Eventually however, the benefits of having
strong melee defense and life magic skills provide
for a great combination in vulning and tanking.

4.1.19. Og Spear

From Myrwynn

A nice combination to make a very buffable
melee. With spec life/creature, she'll be doing
VII's fairly early in her career. She hunts in
GSA, and so armor drop is of little concern.
With the new post-creation spec, it probably
makes more sense to not spec creature at
creation and get item earlier, then spec creature
at 60. The high healing skill makes even low
health heals a breeze, though she can be
overwhelmed in a chaincasting mob pretty quickly,
with little health to soak up the hits. While I can
charge in with my pure melee spear, this one requires
a bit more finesse and usually draws out spawns
to her, using vulns. But she's completely self
reliant and doesn't have to lug about dozens of
mana stones. With having three schools of magic
to support, the xp gets spread a little thin, so she's
maturing in her spear/melee skills at a slower rate.
But for solo hunting, she's better prepared.

4.1.20. Grief Og Sword

Submitted by Myphri of Solclaim, lvl 140

This template makes for an extremely strong
character at high levels. It is very focused on magic
skills. You'll find you don't die to melee attacks
very often at all, it's the spellcasters that
are the real problem, hence the magic D
getting spec'd at 125. This is intended for experienced
players only. You tend to need better equipment
for this character than normal due to no melee
defense skill. It also relies heavily on the retraining
quest to move stats and specialize skills.
It can be a rough start, especially if you don't have
good equipment. You can play as a debuffer
in groups or as a melee. If you want a good solo
char for VoD, this one works well. Other weapon
choices can be used but I'm just biased to swords.

After lore you have a long wait till you can specialize
magic defense. You can easily take weapon
tinkering or any other utility skill and collect the
appropriate untrain gem for use at 125. Get
your specialize and attribute transfer gems every
two weeks and hold on to them till you have the
credits for the skills. Don't transfer attributes until
you get around 350 sword skill at least.
With your high Magic skills you can debuff and vuln
nearly anything by lvl 125 (including VoD
mobs). By lvl 135 you should be able to function
solo in VoD with ease or function as the main
debuffer for your melee friends.

4.2. Mage - Archer

4.2.1. Life Archer

Taken from Kelly Nicrath's Archer Page

This is a much easier template to start out with.
The healing is good to have early on because
you will be able to cast health to mana and then
heal yourself. I think I'd take fletching before
Melee D, but that's up to you. If you have a
crafter who can make the arrows for you it isn't
too big of a deal. If you don't have a crafter it is a
great skill for an archer to have. Also, the
Creature Enchantment helps you boost your own Life skill.

4.2.9. Grandpa Archer

Submitted by Snowstorm of Thistledown

The Grandpa Archer is as much a support
mage as it is an archer template. You could
even say that it's a support mage that carries
a bow for solo hunting. Based on the Grandpa
Mage template, it doesn't remotely resemble an
archer until level 20. Back when you could perch
and drain for a living, this was a viable template.
Nowadays, getting this template to level 20 without
any useful offensive skills is hard. Getting to
level 40 without enough strength to wear decent
armor or carry a lot of arrows is no picnic, either.
But if you make it past that point, you'll end up with
a killing machine. Your Creature and Life skill will be
high enough to yield, imperil and vuln just about
anything out there, so that you can bring it down
with just one or a few arrows. But you'll get far
more XP, and far faster, if you team up with a
melee in an XP-sharing fellowship. Now that we
have skill sellback and attribute redistribution, you
can achieve this result with a lot less work
(see Sellback Archer below).

4.2.10. Kwantum Stakespitter

Submitted by Kwantum Stakespitter

This template is perfect for the archer who doesn't
mind buffing, but who doesn't want the strict
blandness and utter lack of versatility of the OGA;
it leaves room to train all other essential skills
later on in life, such as LP, melee, leadership, etc,
that is tough to manage at any reasonable level
with OGA. Currently with this char, I can very
easily outkill any equivelant level "true" melee/archer
hands down (yes, that includes tanking in melee),
and have about the same overall abilities as an OG
archer because of spec creature,(hint... spec life is
virtually unnecessary if you have spec creature,
unless you're pk) while also being able to take more
skills than either true m/a or OGA later on.

(NOTE: This template is based around the idea that
you have a trade mule or friend who can make your
arrows for you for a bit - you won't get fletching till
your 40s/50s unless you decide to switch it for
Arcane in your 30s.)

4.2.11. Kelly's Life Crossbow Template

Take from Kelly Nicrath's Archer Page

This should make for a pretty powerful character
in later life as well as being a bit easier to play at
a younger age. I have sacrificed a little of the magic
skills to give you the ability to carry a little and
have more than 5 life to start off with. Your
Crossbow, Fletching, Healing and Lore will all be
maxed out and you will have very high magic scores.
Start off getting the Explorer magic items and you
won't need lore until 16 anyway, but you will want it
if you plan on using a comp xbow later in life. With
Critter you should be able to buff yourself to be able
to cast 3's by level 5 or so.

Starting Attributes
Strength: 50
Endurance: 20
Coordination: 100

4.2.12. Del Lord

From Del Lord, Master of Stooges

The Del Lord name sprang from 2 thoughts...
1) I deleted characters a lot to try new things.
2) I like slapstick and Del Lord was the
producer of the 3 Stooges.

As most Xtreme templates this template starts
very weak but soon (45th) becomes a very playable
character able to go anywhere. From being the
parties buff-bot to switching to UA and leading the
party to finally being the reserve Archer slaying
anything at a distance this template is truly
versatile.

Starting Attributes
Strength: 80

4.2.13. Og-Crossbow

From Aesa of Solclaim

I don''t really like using the term OG, but it
seems the popular one =). This is different from
OG-Bow because xbow can actually be specialized
whereas bow cannot.

4.3.2. Bunny Master - Tank Thrower

Submitted by Fela, Monarch -
The Clan of the Hand, Darktide.

This template is designed for the experienced
player who wants to PvP in style. It is a team-player,
totally dependent on a mage for buffs and vulns.
Essentially a hybrid of Extreme UA and Tank
Thrower-- spec Run and Jump bring out the
Bunny Master in this template-- and actually
help it to make and break sticky.

Race: Sho
Strength: 100

Focus: 10
Self: 10
Health: 5
