2.7. Unarmed Combat

2.7.1. 3-School UA

From Eshuun Dara of Harvestgain

This character is perfect to take advantage of skill
back. You may wish to drop arcane down to trained
around level 70 or so. At level 73, my UA with this
template buffs to 297 arcane lore, which is probably
overkill. :P You can use those two credits to put
towards lockpick or missle def or weapon tinkering
as you wish. If you really want to have some fun,
level up to level 125, unspec arcane, and train war
magic. They'll never see that coming!

Starting Attributes
Strength: 100
Endurance: 10
Coordination: 100
Quickness: 50
Focus: 60
Self: 10
Health: 5
Stamina: 10
Mana: 10

Specialized Skills
Unarmed Combat
Arcane Lore
Melee Defense

Trained Skills
Life Magic
Healing

Suggested Progression
Level 9: Item Magic
Level 26: Creature Magic
Level 50: Mana Conversion
2.7.2. Tank UA

From Triumverant

Basically, with Spec Melee D, the only buff
you should need is maybe a Imp on your
armor, but you have the capability for full banes if
you need them. With no life magic, you are totally
dependent on your jewelry/clothing/armor for
your life protects, but with duals and some of the
new armor (Gaerlan's Shield works wonders for me)
it's not difficult at all to secure a full set of prots and
still have room for that minor strength elysa's favor,
and rejuv and regen pieces. This is personally my
fav template i've ever played, as it allows me to
buff once every hour for appox 2 mins...the lowest
by far of any class i know of (excluding, or course...a
completely no-buff character)

Starting Attributes
Strength: 100
Endurance: 30
Coordination: 100
Quickness: 80
Focus: 10
Self: 10

Level 16: Item Enchantment
Level 32: Mana Conversion
Level 70: Missile Defense
2.7.3. Blacktongue Og UA

From Kirick Blacktongue

It's based on the OG UA, but focuses a little
more on the melee aspect than the spellcaster
side of AC. I don't go beyond level 20 because
there are so many things to consider buying,
and it all depends on what the player wants. You
can buy bow at 45 or specialize Creature Enchantment,
for example. Or, buy Bow at 45 and Spec.
Creature Enchantment at 85 (80 with skill credit quest).
You could even make this character a Tinker if you
wanted to, or buy lockpick. Whatever the player
decides, this template can provide (including War Magic at 85!).

Starting Attributes
Strength: 100
Endurance: 10
Coordination: 100
Quickenss: 40

2.7.7. Sinister Melee

Making a Tank Character! Make attributes to even
out Magic D and Melee D to make them both
viable! This template results in strong magics,
strong melee defense, powerful UA damage and
strong Melee Defense!

Starting Attributes
Strength: 100
Coordination: 10
Endurance: 100

Focus: 65

2.7.8. Lone Ranger UA

Submitted by Maverick III of Morningthaw

Starting Attributes:
Strength: 100
Endurance: 10
Coordination: 100
Quickness: 100
Focus: 10
Self: 10
Health: 5
Stamina: 10
Mana: 10

Specialized Skills
Unarmed Combat
Melee Defense

Trained Skills
Healing
Arcane Lore
Item Enchantment
Mana Conversion

Suggested Progression
Level 9: Creature Enchantment
Level 40: Life Magic
Level 80: (Specialize) Life Magic
Level 110: Lockpick
(I'd suggest using the extra 3 Credits, or 4
with Skill Credit quest, on a tinker skill for the
full salvage ability...my char has Weapon Tinkering)

This char is perfect for the self sufficent player,
that wants a melee that can do just about any
quest because of his Lockpick, and can stand his
ground PvP due to the Spec'd Life. It's a great
mix of durability and flexibility. Since you can move
around Attributes, you can start with more Endurance,
and shift it to Str/Coord/Quick as you gain levels
and health.

I've had a question or two about my template, so I thought I'd post it.

Attributes:

Strength: 100
Endurance: 50
Coordination: 100
Quickness: 60
Focus: 10
Self: 10

Specialized Skills:

Crossbow
Magic Defense
Melee Defense
Unarmed Combat

Trained Skills:

Arcane Lore
Creature Enchantment
Healing
Item Enchantment
Life Magic
Mana Conversion

Advantages:

This template is very well rounded, and works well for me. As many of you know, I'm not death inclined. Having 2 specialized defense skills gives this template a lot of survivability. Spec'd UA has a low credit cost, is very effective, and allows the use of a shield. Spec'd Xbow provides for versatility in certain situations. For example, you can attack Bonecrunch, and Pillars of Fire/Light/Ice/Acid, without worrying about death.

Disadvantages:

Hah, what disadvantages? No, I'm kidding. A few downsides include the lack of fletching. Bolts are heavy, so it's not feasible to carry every damage type. Selecting damage prior to battle is essential. Having reduced quickness can also be a disadvantage, as your melee defense is less effective.

Alternatives:
Ignore Crossbow, and use the spare credits to specialize Life Magic. This leaves you with 4 spare credits, which you can use however you please. I suggest saving for a skill like lockpick or missile defense. The specialized Life Magic is GREAT for certain situations, especially when a rend won't cut it, and you imp/vuln for your AR. Crossbow/Life are both good choices, I've used both variations.

Xen,

Thanks for sharing your template. I will compliment you on your playing and knowledge of the game. You have chiseled the fat off your toon, and the result is very impressive. This is highlighted by the way you commant your toon.

The template looks great, I am wondering if you could have dumped your starting Endurance skill a bit at creation and added the points to Quickness.

Besides the increased health what did Starting with a higher Endurance do for your toon?
